

Fr. Michel W. Dalton, O.F.M., Cap.,
was born in Brooklyn, New York but spent most of his childhood living in Stony
Point, New York. He is the oldest of five children having three sisters and a
brother. He attended Immaculate Conception grade school and then Albertus Magnus
High School where he graduated in 1969. Immediately after high school he entered
the Capuchin Franciscans making his first Profession of Vows in 1970 and
continuing on to college studies at St. Anselm's College in Manchester, New
Hampshire. Fr. Mike graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and a minor
in Social Work. Graduate studies where taken at Maryknoll School of Theology in
Ossinging, N.Y. followed by priestly ordination in May 1978 at St. Patrick's
Cathedral in New York City.
After his ordination, Fr. Mike was assigned as the Vocation Director
for the New York and New England Area of his province. For six years he served
in his position while also teaching in Formation Program for the Capuchins. In
1979 he began his association with the friars of the Vice Province Star of the
Sea (Guam & Hawaiian Islands) and has served there in the capacity of pastor,
councilor and Vice-Provincial for the friars. In August of 1997 he has assigned
as the Pastor of St. Elizabeth Parish.
